Project Update!
Posted by olle.calles@gmail.com | Projekt AlsterälvenAfter ten days we have been observing a steady stream of fish moving downstream, with species including ål, abborre, mört, braxen, lake, löja, och gös found in the traps. The current total of eels to date is 21 individuals, with the largest weighing 1.56kg and a length of 915mm.
The upstream migration trap I have been building is also nearly completed and will hopefully be sited in the river in the near future to assess the quantity of eels moving back up-river after a long journey out to sea.
It was nice to see some interested young people from the gymnasiet on wednesday who may also take up an interest in conservation efforts in the future.
